As of Thursday, I got accepted into Cornell for Food Science, my top choice. I was excited until I heard that my friend got deferred, though I know he is as qualified, if not more qualified than I am.

This other kid, who's arrogant to the point at which people hate him, calls me and tells me he got in. This really pissed me off because he hadn't taken any Honors/AP classes until this year, and doesn't have as diverse of a background as either of us.

At school the next day, I learned that another of my friends was denied straight-up, making me even angrier.

So yeah, I'm both excited and angry, which I guess means I'm normal. Everyone's making it out to be a momentous occasion, as it probably should be, but I'm not feeling it at all.
